Worker Duck!
New piece for local hotel undergoing renovations. I did revisions as requested by the client. I added their logo and tilted the hat. They also wanted smaller feet. I liked the larger feet but, hey, it's their duck! Final, Revision, Original.

Rework of Fairy picture

I love having other artists to bounce my work off of. Some folks over on the VoodooChilli website critiqued this sketch and helped me make it stronger before taking it to final. I think their suggestions about playing a little more with tonal temperature, leading the eye around the image better, and not having the attention drawn away from the character were all valid issues and I have addessed them. Here is the new sketch.

And here is the Final Image.

It was a constant back and forth between Photoshop and Painter. I made a custom brush set in Painter and did most effects in Photoshop. It was helpful to take palettes from the photo reference that I used for different items. Saved a lot of time trying to mix all the colors. If you have any comments, I'd sure like to hear them. Thanks for looking.
Red Panda Cub color in progress

I am working back and forth between Photoshop and Painter. Here is where I am right now! You can see the sketch below in this blog.

Time Travel

Here is actually the first full color painting I did totally in Painter. I used strong photo reference and the images color palette to accurately render the depth and atmosphere of a mountain setting.
Romance cover

Here is a piece I did for a client illustrating his relatives in a Romance Novel kind of way. It shows the progression of my thought processes.
Creepy Tree

This is a sketch done in Painter and Photoshop. I sketched the line art in Painter and then added value with the airbrush tool in Photoshop. I play with the opacity and transparency settings to get the look I want. I also build up back-ground middle-ground and fore-ground using different layers.
